Valentine’s Day is coming up! I’m sure many of you all have something special planned for your loved ones. To stay on topic with Valentine’s Day, I want to discuss the topic of passion versus obsession.
Did any of you all watch the season finale of The Biggest Loser? ***Spoiler Alert*** Just in case you didn’t watch it and plan on watching it, I won’t reveal the winners of this show. Instead I will say one of the contestants was way too skinny. If you watched the finale, you know who I am talking about. I realize that the winning cash prize at the finale is simply a way to motivate contestants to lose weight, but some contestants get caught up in the competition, be obsessed with getting the highest percent weight loss, and lose far too much that his or her BMI is below the normal range.
Often the fine line between passion and obsession is blurred, and obsession is confused with passion, because we are so caught up with what we are doing. I am no exception. I admit I get caught on a project or goal. We need to step back and reflect upon why we began that project or goal. If we don’t, we lose sight and track just like that contestant on The Biggest Loser who lost too much weight. This contestant, like the other contestants, was on the show, because this contestant wanted to be HEALTHY.
